"Symantec fixed a bug late Monday in the product activation feature it debuted this fall in its latest line of security products, including Norton AntiVirus 2004.
The bug, which affects all English-language Symantec products tagged with the '2004' label sold at retail, forced some users to re-enter the activation code each time the computer was restarted. Product activation is an anti-piracy feature that essentially ties an application to a specific PC, and is used by other vendors as well as Symantec, most noticeably Microsoft."
