PCI Express - Believe the hype

Rolling out this summer will be Intels new architecture--the PCI-Express. The PCI Express bus will replace I/O interfaces such as PCI and AGP8X on all servers and workstations, as well as desktops, notebooks, and communications devices.

With high performance RAID, and enhanced network performance, the PIC-Express will be a must have for hardware enthusiasts and computer users alike. There is a possibility of increasing full-duplex GbE and 10GbE, which could not be done in PCI-enabled boxes. With a PCI bus, you have to open up the box and insert a card, but with PCI-Express, manufacturers can put connectors on the motherboards that will enables users to simply plug in cables at the back of the box which completely simplifies the process.
