Intel Discontinues several Pentium 4 CPUs

"We all now have to say goodbye to another set of Intel microprocessors that are being discontinued due to a known reason explained by Intel about market demand switching to products with higher performance.

This week Intel announced plans to discontinue Intel Pentium 4 2.0A GHz as well as Intel Pentium 4 2.20GHz processors. Additionally, the company said it intends to phase out the Xeon 1.80GHz chip with 512KB of L2 cache for entry-level servers and workstations. Last Product Discontinuance Order Date for the Xeon 1.80GHz chip is the 9th of January, 2004; Last Product Discontinuance Shipment Date is the 9th April, 2004 for boxed CPU and the 14th of July, 2006, for tray version of the microprocessor."
